Does anyone know how long before a slice of onion, dropped beihind a cooker, will smell for? It's been two weeks now, and there is a slight mist developing such is the intensity of it's odour. I'm beginning to dream of onions too, and not in a sexy way..

Pour a bottle of Febreeze down the back of the oven. That ought to take care of it. Either that or the contact between an odour killing substance and one of the smelliest vegtables (in my opinion) there is will produce some kind of unimaginable reaction akin to the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object.

it's only going to get worse. move out, while you still can.
alternatively, try pouring some lemon juice down behind the cooker to neutralize the smell. it works for getting the smell of onions from your hands, so what could go wrong?

Blow a hair dryer down the back of the oven, which will dry out the onion slice.
Once it's dry. it won't smell.
