I once gave an ex-Girlfriend an
Epilator for Christmas. It being top of the range and purposely ‘the most expensive they had’ mattered not as the festive tears began flowing.
I suppose you could blame Fakey. I had called him and his (then) Fiancé, soon to be (now) Wife, who was (then) and (still is) my ex's sister and asked if they thought it was a good idea. They literally cheered me on from the sidelines as I bought the thing.
Not the first Christmas/Relationship that Fakey ruined on me, I'll have you know.

Harsh.
Considering you bought it and then rang me.
Rookie mistake.
Nope, I was standing in the Q with it when I called.. Is this some sort of revenge for the Happy Meal saga?
Well, calling her Magnum PI probably didn't help?
I once purchased the similarly named Epileptor for a (very) ex-girfriend, which, while it delivered on its promise of a 'medically accurate seizure guaranteed', rendered my ex incapable of eating her Xmas dinner.
She never spoke to me (or anyone else) again.
well, my recollection of the incident is:
me: that mightn't go over too well..
him: well it's too late I've bought it...
me: (locking door, closing blinds, blessing himeslf) we never spoke...
oh my.
My but "rookie mistake" is begining to become a much overused expression by my old friend Fakey
Yep, I think he can dispense with the 'rookie' element of it.. They're just mistakes now.
